When using hard chromium additives for production, the hard chromium coating generally needs to meet the following requirements (checked visually for appearance):
① The color of the hard chrome coating should be a slightly light blue, shiny or lustrous appearance. There should be no pockmarks, bubbles, peeling or any other defects that could adversely affect the final polishing.
② For the chromium coating that requires grinding processing after chrome plating, defects that can be eliminated through grinding (such as roughness on the surface of the chromium coating, particles, pinholes, etc.) are allowed.
③ Minor roughness is allowed on the edges and corners of the parts, but it must not cause any defects that hinder the assembly of the parts.
④ For the local chrome-plated parts, the boundary of the chrome coating is allowed to shift by 1mm in any direction (if there are specific regulations in the drawings or process documents, then follow those regulations instead).
⑤ Allow the non-working surfaces of the parts to have fixture marks

⑥ When using the Bigely hard chrome additive, the plated parts must not have any visible cracks. For a coating thickness greater than 50μm, cracks reaching the base metal are not allowed. For instance, high-strength steel materials that have undergone grinding processing will develop cracks if the grinding process is not strictly followed.
⑦ The parts that are chrome-plated with a hard coating are mostly cylindrical. Due to the difficulty in achieving uniformity and concentricity of the chrome coating during thickening chrome plating, an additional polishing process should be added after thickening chrome plating to maintain the concentricity of the coating. The concentricity of the coating is related to the thickness of the coating; the thicker the chrome coating, the worse the concentricity.
