Increasing the temperature of the electroless copper plating solution will accelerate the plating rate. Therefore, it is recommended to keep the temperature within the range of 50 to 60°C (this is the temperature for thick copper plating; if you want to pre-platem, the temperature should be controlled between 55 and 65°C).
When the pH value is too low, the deposited copper is prone to undergo surface passivation, which may sometimes cause the electroless copper plating reaction to stop. Both excessively high temperature and using air stirring carry the risk of causing copper surface passivation.
When zinc, antimony, bismuth and other metal ions are mixed into the plating solution, they will all reduce the reduction rate of copper. When the metal ions (mentioned earlier) in the plating solution exceed a certain content, the plating solution cannot be used for copper plating. Therefore, the technical team of Bigely, when developing and producing electroless copper plating solutions, always use high-purity raw materials. This can avoid the contamination of the plating solution by metal impurities, thereby ensuring that the plating solution can function normally and deposit a bright pink copper coating.
