Properly prepare the plating solution and add the required chemicals for analysis.
The preparation and adjustment of the electroless copper plating solution must be carried out strictly in accordance with the process formula and test results. The adjustment of the solution should be conducted when there is no strict imbalance in the composition of the solution. That is to say, the technicians of the electroplating factory should conduct tests and adjustments simultaneously for maintenance, in order to ensure the stability of the solution.
Replace some of the old liquid
After the electroless copper plating solution has been used for multiple times, the amounts of formic acid, cuprous oxide and impurities brought in from the outside will gradually increase. According to normal replenishment of chemicals, it is no longer possible to achieve a good state. To prevent the solution used for a long time from being scrapped, the electroplating factory can replace some of the old solution so that it can continue to be used. How much should be replaced? Regarding the adjustment of pH value
When the electroless copper plating solution is no longer in use, 20% dilute sulfuric acid can be used to adjust the pH value to 9-10. At this point, the reaction in the plating solution will almost completely stop. When the plating solution is in operation, 20% sodium hydroxide solution should be used to adjust the pH value to within the process specifications while stirring continuously.
Maintain the cleanliness of the solution
The cleaning of the electroless copper plating solution is of vital importance for ensuring the quality of the coating. Therefore, the plating tank should be kept clean at all times to prevent debris from falling in. After the work is completed, the plating tank should be covered in time to prevent dust from entering.
