When an electroplating factory uses the electroless copper plating solution, a series of controls are required to be implemented. The main purpose is to maintain the plating speed and the physical properties of the coating stable, and also to ensure that the plating solution can last for its intended period. So, how should it be done?
First of all, the main chemical components of the plating solution must always remain within the specified range.
Usually, based on the initial composition of the plating solution when it is first opened, the supplementary addition should be carried out in accordance with the operating instructions of the Bigely electroless copper plating solution; the amount of supplementary addition depends on the plating speed and the loading volume of the plating solution. Most commercial plating solutions will pre-mix the copper ions and formaldehyde in a certain ratio to form a supplementary addition concentrate; under normal plating conditions, it is still better to follow the principle of supplementary addition in small amounts and multiple times, and at least it should be supplemented and added once every 2 to 3 hours.
It should be noted that the consumption rate of copper ions and formaldehyde in the electroless copper plating solution cannot always accurately follow the concentration ratio in the added liquid. For example, during the shutdown of the production line, the loading volume of the plating solution decreases. Due to the Konycharo side reaction, the relative (copper ion) consumption of formaldehyde increases; therefore, when using the electroless copper plating solution of Bigely, our engineers suggest that the copper ion, formaldehyde concentration, alkali, and chelate concentration in the plating solution should still be analyzed every two hours, and adjusted separately to avoid an imbalance in the concentration ratio.
