The semi bright nickel plating process is to use semi bright nickel plating additives in double-layer nickel or multi-layer nickel system electroplating to obtain a semi bright nickel bottom layer with high corrosion resistance requirements. In the production process, in order to ensure that the potential difference between the semi bright nickel layer and the bright nickel layer is between 120-145mV and has good corrosion resistance, how should the plating solution be maintained?
Bigely Technology has conducted an analysis based on on-site experience and product characteristics, mainly focusing on the following five points:
1.Regularly analyze the main salt composition of the plating solution. Nickel sulfate and nickel chloride are salts that provide nickel ions, which can maintain good conductivity and coverage performance of the plating solution. During the production process, the main salt concentration should be maintained within the process range.
2.Regularly measure and adjust the pH value of the plating solution, which has a significant impact on the nickel deposition process and the quality of the nickel layer. During the production process, dilute sulfuric acid or nickel carbonate can be used to adjust the pH value of the plating solution.
3.The addition of additives for semi bright nickel plating should follow the principle of adding less and more frequently, and the usage and addition amount should be determined based on the appearance and consumption of the workpiece. It is recommended to dilute the Ni-331 semi bright nickel plating additive before adding it. Generally, it should be added every 30 minutes during continuous production.
4.The plating solution needs to be continuously circulated and filtered. The filtration pump filters the plating solution 5-8 times within 1 hour.
5.Regularly perform electrolytic treatment on the plating solution at a current density of 0.1~0.3A/dm2 to reduce excessive metal impurities such as iron, copper, and zinc in the plating solution. In addition, workpieces that fall out of the groove should be promptly removed to reduce the impact of metal impurities dissolution on the plating solution.
Maintaining a good semi bright nickel plating solution can effectively reduce the occurrence of faults, improve production efficiency, and better utilize semi bright nickel plating additives.
