When electroplating plants use potassium chloride zinc plating brightener, how can the PH value be well controlled? What benefits can be brought by controlling the PH value well?
① When production is suspended for extended periods, operators should remove the zinc anodes from the tank. Why is this necessary? To prevent elevated zinc ion concentrations and pH levels caused by anode dissolution.
② When using potassium chloride zinc plating brightener for production, the parts that have fallen into the tank should be removed in time. Otherwise, the chemical dissolution of steel parts will not only cause the pH value of the plating solution to rise, but also lead to the accumulation of iron ions and contaminate the plating solution.
③ For large-area parts, complex-shaped parts, or parts undergoing barrel plating, apply a double current for a brief period during electroplating. This prevents or reduces the formation of zinc-free zones in low-current-density areas, thereby avoiding the chemical dissolution of iron.
④ Adjust the pH using 5% dilute hydrochloric acid or 5% sodium hydroxide solution. Never use concentrated hydrochloric acid or high-concentration sodium hydroxide solution to adjust the pH of the plating bath.
