We need to follow these two principles in order to quickly troubleshoot and solve problems when flaking with hard chrome additives.
Hexavalent chromium chromium plating test if you find that the original solution has a narrow range of brightness and no yellow film in the low zone, the technician should first add a small amount of barium carbonate to precipitate some sulfate and then carry out the test. Why? The reason is that when using 2~3 stage recovery, sulfate will only increase and not decrease.
For standard chrome plating solutions, the sulfur to chromium ratio for better dispersion is not 100:1 but 155:1. sulfate is high in most plants. If there is a yellow film in the low zone immediately above the chromium layer, the technician needs to make up a test with chromic anhydride. If the liquid color is like old spice, you should consider whether the content of trivalent chromium and sulfuric acid is too high.
If change a certain process conditions or supplement a component (such as the use of hard chromium additives, change the content of trivalent chromium), the test piece compared with the original liquid, the crystallization of the detailed bright range of broadening or a failure to get better, then this change is correct, should continue to change the factor to find the right value.
On the contrary, if the plating layer is not as good as the original condition after changing a certain factor, the change is wrong.
