(1) Zinc impurities in the plating solution higher than 0.1 g / L, will make the plating color dark, there are streaks appear, when the alkaline copper plating solution zinc content reaches 1.5 ~ 2.5 g / L, it will be plated with brass-colored plating layer. Zinc impurities can also be treated by cathodic electrolysis at 0.3~0.5 A/dm² current density. Since zinc cyanide-ligand compounds and copper cyanide-ligand compounds have similar deposition potentials, they can easily become alloy precipitation, and the loss of copper is relatively large, so the engineers at Bigelow do not recommend electrolysis, and the concentration of zinc impurities should be allowed to drop by itself with the normal production of electroplating and be removed slowly.

(2) The presence of 0.015~0.030 g/L lead ions can make the cyanide copper plating layer easy to shine, so some plating masters will prepare their own lead salts as brighteners, and the content is high, and it does achieve a certain effect in the beginning.

But using this lead salt additive for a long time will cause the lead ions in the bath to accumulate gradually as well, and when it exceeds 0.08 g/L, it will make the plating layer rough and brittle.
