① Poor pickling and cleaning of workpieces before plating
When plating complex fittings, automobile and motorcycle mufflers, etc., the inside of the fittings are often not cleanly pickled, and loose corrosion is present. If you do not rinse the inside of the tubing carefully before plating with copper brightener, it is easy to introduce rust and corrosion into the plating solution. When the internal plating solution is poured out when the parts are removed after plating, internal dirt enters the plating solution.
So how to solve it? Bigely engineers suggest that ultrasonic cleaning can be used for plated parts with complex geometry and precision parts with high cleanliness requirements. Different shapes and sizes of workpieces use different cleaning methods.
② Introduction of poor water quality
When hard water is used to prepare baths, calcium and magnesium impurities in the water (which are more serious with groundwater) tend to form scale when heated (especially on the surface of the heater) and become solid impurities. When the plating solution contains F-, CaF₂ precipitation is also generated. The situation is worse if the groundwater also contains silt and sand.
